And my own understanding is that meditation has grown out of the experience of orgasm, because the original founders -- particularly Shiva who, in his &lt;i&gt;Vigyan Bhairva Tantra&lt;/i&gt;, has written, just like a scientific formula, about one hundred and twelve meditations; each meditation just in one line or two lines.... The man is tremendously aphoristic. Those one hundred and twelve &lt;i&gt;sutras&lt;/i&gt; are just like seeds. He has condensed everything about the method in them.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin: 0cm;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: black;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin: 0cm;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: black;"&gt;He is also known as a great lover. Perhaps he was the first man to discover meditation. And I always explain them that awakening and sex are two different stages. Awakening is a state of existence and sex may be used as a means to attain that state of existence. Sex is like a jungle. It allures people with its flowers; its fragrances; its fruits. But it offers a risk also. The risk of being lost inside it is there; and hence, mostly people have a fear of being lost in this jungle of flowers, fragrances and fruits. I ask my pupil that the journey for bliss cannot start with a fear. You start it with fearlessness. Do not be scared of sex. It is not scary. You are ignorant of sex and you have made it a sin; a taboo. You are ignorant of awakening and you have made it a ritual; a penance. You are ignorant of meditation and you have made it a mystical practice; an esoteric formula. When you enter meditation; when you start entering it you find that it was not so complicated as it was described by the experts.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin-bottom: 6.0pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: black;"&gt;Experts always make the things incomprehensible. They put simple things with such a great extensions of &amp;#8220;ifs&amp;#8221; and &amp;#8220;buts&amp;#8221; that a common person cannot understand it. The same has happened to both of the sex and the meditation. Both are very simple but Pundits have made them burdensome.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin-bottom: 6.0pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: black;"&gt;Sex is one of the natural tendencies of the body. Restraining it is unnatural. There are those who say avoid sex. They teach their lesson plans to people and the people find it difficult. On the other hand are those who preach to enjoy it like an animal. They induce you to the limits of pornographic domain to earn their monetary benefits. A common man finds himself in a fix. I'm fit - I walk everywhere&lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Swapping the car, tube or bus for the power of your own feet is clearly a step up in the fitness stakes but when it comes to fitness, there's walking and there's walking. 'You need to find your optimum walking pace,' says diet and movement specialist Joanna Hall.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;'Start walking and gradually pick up speed until you feel yourself involuntarily breaking into a jog. A survey by Slimming World found only seven per cent of people believe they are obese - yet 27 per cent of the population has a BMI of more than 30, which puts them in the obese category.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Being overweight significantly raises your risk of heart disease, type II diabetes and various cancers - so being honest about it is crucial. Get a reality check by calculating your BMI for free at &lt;a href="http://www.slimmingworld.com"&gt;www.slimmingworld.com&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h2 style="text-align: justify;"&gt;3. A few cigarettes when I'm out won't hurt&lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Social smoking isn't dangerous - so say social smokers, but according to Brian Jones of QUIT, there's no safe level of smoking. 'Even if you only smoke occasionally you are still subjecting your body to potential health risks through the harmful chemicals in cigarettes,' he says.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;If you smoke just one to four cigarettes a day you have a significantly greater risk of dying from lung cancer or heart disease than non-smokers. I don't need to worry about cancer because it doesn't run in my family &lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;While it's true cancers such as breast and testicular can be hereditary, not having a family history of cancer doesn't mean you're automatically safe.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;'Less than ten per cent of the 46,000 cases of breast cancer that are diagnosed in Britain each year are due to hereditary causes,' says Jackie Harris, clinical nurse specialist at Breast Cancer Care.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;'So it's vital you check your breasts regularly and report any changes quickly to your GP.' Men should regularly check for symptoms of breast, testicular and prostate cancer too.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Testicular and prostate cancers affect 36,000 men in this country each year and 300 men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year too. I'm not a binge drinker&lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;You might not wake up in a gutter every Saturday morning but if you're male and drink more than eight units (four pints of standard-strength beer) in a night or female and knock back six units (three small glasses of wine) in a sitting then you are a binge drinker according to Dr Rachel Seabrook, research manager for the Institute of Alcohol Studies.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;'Drinking too much alcohol increases your risk of a wide range of diseases,' she warns, 'including liver disease, several cancers, high blood pressure and, of course, addiction. Bingeing also brings additional risks such as injuries from accidents or violence.'&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="text-align: justify;"&gt;Keep a check on your drinking by totting up how many units you're getting through in a week.&lt;/p&gt; And I always explain them that awakening and sex are two different stages. Awakening is a state of existence and sex may be used as a means to attain that state of existence. Sex is like a jungle and mostly people have a fear of being lost there. I ask my pupil that the journey for bliss cannot start with a fear. You start it with fearlessness. Do not be scared of sex. It is not scary. It is merely alluring; alluring to take you astray so long as you are not aware of the sex itself.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin-bottom: 6.0pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 200%;"&gt;The basis of all sins is your ignorance. You are ignorant of sex and you have made it a sin; a taboo. You are ignorant of awakening and you have made it a ritual; a penance. You are ignorant of meditation and you have made it a mystical practice; an esoteric formula. When you enter meditation; when you start entering it you find that it was not so complicated as it was described by the experts.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin-bottom: 6.0pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 200%;"&gt;Experts always make the things incomprehensible. They put simple things with such a great extensions of &amp;#8220;ifs&amp;#8221; and &amp;#8220;buts&amp;#8221; that a common person cannot understand it. The same has happened to both of the sex and the meditation. Both are very simple but Pundits have made them burdensome.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin-bottom: 6.0pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: 200%;"&gt;Sex is one of the natural tendencies of the body. Restraining it is unnatural. There are those who say avoid sex. They teach their lesson plans to people and people find it difficult. On the other hand are those who preach to enjoy it like an animal. They induce you to the limits of pornographic domain to earn their monetary benefits. A common man finds himself in a fix. Meditation happens spontaneously.&amp;nbsp; Just ask how to remain unoccupied, that's all. That's the whole trick of meditation - how to remain unoccupied. Then you cannot do anything. When you are doing something the energy moves out. Doing is a way of moving out. Non-doing is a way of moving in. Occupation is an escape. You can read the Bible, you can make it an occupation. There is no difference between religious occupation and secular occupation: all occupations are occupations, and they help you to cling outside your being. They are excuses to remain outside.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt; line-height: 24.0pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Arial,sans-serif;"&gt;Man is ignorant and blind, and he wants to remain ignorant and blind, because to come inwards looks like entering a chaos. And it is so; inside you have created a chaos. You have to encounter it and go through it. Courage is needed - courage to be oneself, and courage to move inwards. I have not come across a greater courage than that - the courage to be meditative.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="margin-bottom: 10.0pt; line-height: 24.0pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 14.0pt; font-family: Arial,sans-serif;"&gt;But people who are engaged outside - with worldly things or nonworldly things, but occupied all the same, they think ....and they have created a rumor around it, they have their own philosophers. They say that if you are introvert you are somehow morbid, something is wrong with you. And they are in the majority. If you meditate, if you sit silently, they will joke about you: &amp;quot;What are you doing? - Gazing at your navel? What are you doing? - Opening the third eye? Where are you going? Are you morbid? Because what is there to do inside? When you embed your sensations in the words of a language they become thoughts. These sensations are about the world around you hence these thoughts are the gateways for this world to enter YOU. This world intrudes upon you through your thoughts.&lt;br /&gt;Sit comfortably and observe your thoughts. These are either the memory of your past or desires of your future. Thoughts do not exist in present. In the present, only the existence exists. You should understand this thing.&lt;br /&gt;Memories are the recollection of your that past, which is already dead in time. The future has not taken birth so far. Your desire to become rich or attain some goal in future is only a speculation. The future is unseen. And hence it may or may not be according to your thinking. It is your own experience that nature usually does not repeat itself. It is not going to repeat in future also. By concentrating on your future you are spending your time for something which is not going to happen.&lt;br /&gt;Therefore neither your past nor your future is alive. The alive entity is You. You are alive here and now. Your thoughts are about everything but not about ‘here and now’. The existence of your thoughts does not coincide with your existence. Thoughts are dragging you to a dead end; to an end which is not alive.&lt;br /&gt;Observe the flow of thoughts. They are always directed outwardly from you. Thoughts drain you out of you. They create a vacuum inside you after you are totally drained out. This vacuum is then filled by the thoughts of the world. When you sit, you find thoughts of office, spouse, children, neighbours, high school camping, strategies to overcome the growth of colleagues and the thoughts of every thing. But you are nowhere in your thoughts. Thought are never about you.&lt;br /&gt;When you remember your past days or make plans of your promotion etc. a number of people understand that they are thinking about themselves. But this is an illusion only.&lt;br /&gt;You are a living being. There are two ways to know yourself. One way is to know about you, as others do. They know you through your name, parentage, education, address, family, religion, sex, caste and several other informations about you. The second way is to know of you (not knowing about you). This is the subjective way to know of you. You know of you because of your very existence of you and not through the information provided by others.&lt;br /&gt;When you think or plan a strategy about your promotion, you act on the basis of informations about you and the post and the person who is vacating that post and also the informations about other competitors in the race. All information here is only objective. You put yourself amidst the information and weigh the probability of promotion, in the same way as you are putting others in those informations. Through this thought process you reduce your being to a mathematical problem and solution. Your thoughts make you do all this. Now it is that mathematical problem in your thoughts which you mistakenly assume as being yourself. It is not you in your thoughts but it is that mathematical problem which you are mistakenly identifying as you. Thoughts are never about you.&lt;br /&gt;Thoughts need not to be about you. The reason is simple. You are present now and here. You are in existence now and here. There is no need for the thoughts being about you. Thoughts are about the perceptible objects. You are not a perceptible object for you. You are the perceiver. You do not perceive about you. You need not seek any evidence of your existence. You know your existence without any proof; because you are you; because it is you who exists. This existence is yours.&lt;br /&gt;Now again reappraise these thoughts. You occasionally boast of your thoughts. Some people praise you because of your thoughts. Some argue that your thoughts should be chaste and serene. But no one bothers to know if these thoughts are yours. If you say that these are your thoughts then this is a new illusion. You test it yourself if you can command your thoughts.&lt;br /&gt;Sit and try to regulate the flow of your thoughts. Just try to channelize them. Try to focus your thoughts, say, on your spouse. Soon you find that you have thoughts about everything but of your spouse. Your thoughts slip away from your spouse. Again try to keep your thoughts away a particular object, say, your dog. Soon you realize that the thoughts are again encircle your dog. You try your thoughts to take away from your dog but they come again and again around and about the dog. Thoughts are like untamed beasts. They are not in your control rather you are very much in their control. Therefore your statement that your thoughts are yours is not true. However it may be true to say that you are of your thoughts.&lt;br /&gt;You have unveiled your thoughts to some extent (sufficient for the purpose of this article). Your thoughts originate from perceptible objects, they oust you of you; they fill inside you the garbage of dead past and unborn future; your thoughts do not belong to you and they are not of you (don’t confuse by “of you” for “about you”); your thoughts are like un-tethered horses without any of your control over them. All your thoughts are random, flowing and turbulent.&lt;br /&gt;These thoughts are not under your control. They are not of you. These thoughts are not ‘yours’. These thoughts are beyond your power. Rather you are of these thoughts. Moreover, they control you. You are completely filled with these thoughts. You cannot live without thoughts. These thoughts are swaying you in random directions in a random fashion. You are flowing in your thoughts. You are helpless before these thoughts.&lt;br /&gt;These thoughts are not only overshadowing you in your awakened state but they have entered your sleep also. While with eyes opened, you have hypertension. While trying to close your eyes you have insomnia. Your thoughts have incapacitated you. You want to do but are not able to do. Your thoughts have made you pathetic. Now you are captive of your thoughts; a prisoner imprisoned in the prison of thoughts.Being a conscious being you need freedom. This freedom can be achieved only through the freedom from the thoughts. There are two steps in freedom.&lt;br /&gt;First is the realization of your captivity and then&lt;br /&gt;The second is your efforts to get free from the captivity&lt;br /&gt;If you have realized the imprisonment of thoughts, then adopt the second course and write to lightinlife to know the right efforts to get freedom from the imprisonment of thoughts.
